How many hours of driving do I need to log?

You will need to complete the driving log provided for this course with 20 hours of driving between the start date and the completion date.

The 20 hours are divided into 14 hours of daytime driving and 6 hours of nighttime(after dusk prior to dawn).

See the course links for the driving log form.

Having 5-10 hours of driving is required before attending the first class.

What if I forget my permit at my lesson?

Student drivers MUST carry their permits with them for in-car lessons. If a student does not have a permit to show the instructor, the drive may be canceled, and a no-show fee may be charged.

If a parent/guardian can be notified to retrieve the permit and deliver it within the first hour while a student is observing, the driving time and in-car lesson may be preserved.

General

Do I have to attend all the classes?

Yes, the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles requires 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 + 6 hours of in-vehicle driving and observation.

This course is designed to meet these requirements, and since no additional hours are planned within the course, attendance is fully required to complete the course successfully.

NOTE: If you have a medical injury, such as a medically documented concussion, you may be moved into a future course to complete your coursework and driving obligation without financial penalty.

What is your refund policy?

No refunds.

Only Exception: If arrangements have been made before the course start for which you are registered - between the parent/guardian and the Owner of Westside VT Driving School for a student to transfer to a future course, the deposit may also be transferred.
